This is an ultra rare double cd, links at bottom.

Titled - Tony De Vit - A Tribute.

This is what inlay says:

There are few DJs that can lay claim to the fact that they were there in the beginning with the creation of dance music as we know it today.
There are fewer individuals who can claim they have played records through many genres of dance music over the years.
Only a handful can claim they have reflected an eclectic style in their music & DJing that truly embodies dance music culture.
One such individual could claim all those things....

Tony will be fondly remembered for his legendary sets at venues such as Trade, Sundissential, Gatecrasher, Cream, Chuff Chuff, Sunnyside Up, as well as clubs around the world.
It was always an incredible experience to see Tony at work & the effect he had on people around him. He was dearly loved by clubbers throughout the world & the dance music industry.

Tony had a string off awards & nominations to his name including 'Dance DJ Of The Year' (Molson BEDA Awards).
Best DJ Of The Year (M8 1996), '2nd Best DJ Off The Year 1996' (Mixmag). He came 5th in DJ Magazine's 'Top 100 DJs Poll'. The world will never forget Tony or his unique innovative sound.

Tony's musical ability stretched further than 2 decks & a mixer. As well as having his own late night slot on London's Kiss FFM every Saturday night, he also possessed a production & remix ability that was second to none. Throughout his career he remixed for numerous pop artists including Eternal, East 17, Michelle Gayle, The Shamen, Taylor Dane, Ant & Dec & his remix of Louis's - 'Naked' earned music week's vote as the 'groundbreaking remix of 1996'.
Tony also had two top 40 successes himself with 'Burning Up' (1995) & 'To The Limit' as well as mixing a staggering 12 dance music compilations including Fantazia's 'House Collection' series, 'Trade' Volumes 1&3 & Trade International also know as Trade Global Grooves, Miss Moneypennys 'Glamourous One' & 'Tony De Vit - Live in Tel Aviv' for Global Underground, which was the very first release.

Tony began DJing in 1978 ay Birmingham's infamous Nightingale Club. He propelled himself from local club DJ into an international DJ, producer, remixer & radio broadcaster.

He said - 'DJing, remixing, producing & enjoying the music is my passion, my love..... it's my life'

He enjoyed every waking moment off his career which at the point off his death was finally receiving the recognition he so very much deserved. His music, his inimitable style, his energy & his smile will live on forever.
Quite simply he was a legend with an incredible talent & I think I speak for many people when I say that he will be sorely missed.
I hope that his memory & his music live on & continue to inspire others.

Tony De Vit - RIP

A Flame That Burns Twice As Bright, Lasts Half As Long

Both CDs in this collection are from Tony's private library & show his complete diversity.
The first one being deep funky techno from the early Trade days

The second is more indicative off what propelled him to DJ Super stardom

link removed as nothing new plus suspect location of source[i]

This set is already available on the main direct direct download page, has been for ages. It's side 1 and 2 of the same set. Where did you get these supposed CD's from? I would hate to think that someone has downloaded it from here and repackaged it as their own product. That inlay tribute has been used quite a number of times in dance music magazines from when Tony passed away and on anniversaries of his death. That sort of thing seems to happen a lot. This site is without doubt the best TDV resource on the net, yet most of the visitors here just take, take, take and contribute f**k all! There is even one particular oldskool site that is charging £5 a set for a couple of sets that have undoubtedly been leached from here. How hard is it to give credit where credit is due or even say thanks to the people that have made the effort to share their stuff?

All of the sets from here appear on this guy's Facebook page, on which he preaches about involvement and posting thanks etc, etc, yet there is no credit given to this site at all. He's even bollocked someone on BangingTunes.com for posting a link to a set from his site without 'permission'. I'm not suggesting that the stuff on here should be exclusive but there should be a word of thanks at least and to try and generate somekind of community. There's only so much the 3 or 4 'regular' visitors on here can talk about. I would say that we have just about run out of stuff as it is! It's a real shame that all the effort that has gone into this, from you in particular Jessop, just hasn't paid off, despite the high membership and what is on offer here.

Totally agree... If you look at the 'latest logins' on the front page, we get loads of new visitors downloading the sets, but very few bother contributing to our community.

Even if each of them just made a single post regarding a TDV song or memory, it would give the site a huge boost.

And, if this site was used more, I'd be willing to improve it with any features you or others could suggest...

It's a bit late now but I agree that people should have to contribute to the site before being able to download the tapes. I've seen that Old Skool site offering the mixes I purchased, ripped and uploaded here for sale and am not happy they have not credited me, this site and are making a profit from the mixes.

If you want, I can make it so that downloads are restricted... This can be based on number of posts, number of 'karma' points, or anything else you can think of....

Though we don't want to encourage spam...

I can also set some credits in the mp3 tags, which may help if some people don't strip them off....

yeah, I'll do that.
