At nigh on 50 this year, I thought the slippers were calling but then I lucked upon this site. And what can I say.........................
Thank you folks. Listening to the mixes has brought back some splendid memories. Especially the most fondest of the first time to listen to Dance music many years ago. I think everyone remembers the first time but as a beer drinking heavy metal meat head, dance didn't do anything for me until a little smiley face was chucked down my neck. Then over the next hour things changed very rapidly and climaxed with a track I didn't know off but would remember for the rest of my life. I was to find out later it was TDV "The Dawn". That was it. I was and have been since "Hooked".

So a big thank you to all those who have uploaded the TDV mixes. You have made me a very happy man.

Hi Fudge, same here,dance misic didn`t even register on the musical spectrum for me until 95,I was into tons of the old stuff as well as Thomas Dolby,Big Audio Dynamite, James, and especially Carter USM [I was probably the oldest bloke at the gigs !] but my bro gave me a TdV/Graham Gold/Sister Bliss tape for my b/day [probably to stop me moaning about his deep house mix sessions] and it was the TdV tape that done it.What a stroke of luck,to be introduced to the pinnacle of underground dance music,to cut through the previous 6 year layers of cheesecake and totally hit the spot, result! And he was on the radio at the time and playing London clubs,Happy Days! Only RR Fierce [god rest him] Paul Glazby,Andy Farley and Karim have come close and in their own unique way taken it forward. [A special mention for Andy Farleys 3 hour set in the last Trade in Ministry small room,tons of TdV stuff,all records at +8,full on fuckin` wahhhh!, if you weren`t there,you missed something special,thank god I recorded loads of it] So yeah,when I look at my collection,there`s the dance music and then the other stuff, if I want to diall in a mood or certian emotion,I go for "the other stuff" but if I want a life affirming, full on,just groove like nobody`s watching moment,I know where to go, dance music every time,a TdV mix if you can get it,keep rockin` Mark
