Oh, memory sooo sketchy about this one.

It may not even be called this, it may not EVEN have this as the lyric, anyway it sounds something like:

(womans voice) "love me baby, love me baby, par-ee-ark, and rii-ee-ii-eee-iiide"

then a blokes voice : park... and ride... followed by big beat.

surely, this must ring some bells with someone ? If not, I'll be forced to sing it and upload it!

Hi Jamie,my sincere apologies for not being about for ages [as in `kin ages] [work, work and more work] but I`ll defo make the effort from now on.The track you want is K+M Funk and Drive ,if you google it there`s a full version on there.I`ve still been sourcing lots of rare TdV mixes so have a few surprises! [ I forget how to do the upload thing as it`s been so long so a quick refresh would be appreciated] Thanks a million,Mark

F**kin' hell nrgzone, your interpretation skills are unbelievable, I've got 'Funk & Drive' and absolutely love it but there's no way in the world I would have guessed it was this tune Jamie was on about, that's some talent you've got there!!

wooooh! Thanks! I went to that track, and whilst that line "funk and drive" is definitely the sample in the track I was thinking of, that isn't the track.

Anyway, armed with that phrase I found the one I was thinking of:

Elevatorman - Funk and Drive

Funk & Drive - Dance Machine

Elevatorman perform Funk & Drive at the Stade Bercy in Paris infront of 17,000 people. In black and white because of weird French TV format

This isn't the mix I had in my mind though - it was much harder and faster - like a TDV remix, but I've got something to search for now.

I too am astounded you got the right sample just from my description, because none of the rest of the description matches Smile

Thanks!

I've been through about 4 different mixes looking for the one I wanted, but all were less similar than the original:

Funk And Drive

Funk and Drive - the video (1995). Directed by Bruno Tilley. Shot in a Robin Reliant around central London.

But, then I found it! I don't know what this mix is called - it may just be the 12inch, but this is the exact version I've had in my head all these years!

Listen to this, especially after half way through, and this is the bit I described so brilliantly(!) in my first post!

Cheeeeeeeers for sorting this, though I think the thought of me threatening to sing it helped!!

Praise you!

Hi Jamie, only too glad to help out,I`m sure I`ve got the 12inch somewhere [possibly two] ,and remember it on at least one of Tony`s mixes, and Jon Pleased used to play it a lot.I`ve got so many records [5k+] and TdV mixes [100+] it would take a while to dig out but I`ll do it for you. Check discogs.com as well, you might have to cross-refer,the site used to be easier before and give all permutations but it`s gone a bit "buy here" rather than the pure info approach it used to have.I`m sure it will show up soon.A mate of mine was looking for "Interactive,Point Of No Return" from the old Trade days for 6 years,I went searching and found it online in Germany 2 weeks later! Result! Laters,Mark
Update,I`ve just had a look at my Tdv book/file,it`s track 13 on his Essential Mix [with whailing intro [unforgattable/how could I forget?] After Jx You belong to me and before The Phorce Strong.I`m definitely going to have a root through the records to see if I have it [it`s credited to Wired records],I`ve just had a listen to the e/mix and it`s definitely tougher than the fluffier versions you posted with definite a TdV feel to it so poss a test/unreleased pressing.By the way,I`ve got a definite surprise coming up as I`ve found a remix of a familiar old tune with the TdV stamp all over it,in the middle of a rare mix tape, defo! A tenner to the first person [registered to this site] that spots it,it may take a long while as I`ve forgotten how to upload,it could be in any of the next few uploads and it might need clearance first so be patient!
