Hello TDV people..
What a brilliant site.. many thanks to the chap who built it. Just downloaded all the mixes and me and my little boy are having large in the living room. javascript:emoticon(' ')
Praise you!
A mix I haven't seen mentioned which is a fantastic show of Mr Tony de vit and his skills is the set he played at Dreamscape 20 - the massive rave that was held in milton kenyes. This was really a hardcore affair but they did have a house tent. I have this tape from summer 1995 when i was into hardcore then when i first heard tony de vit at sankeys manchester I pulled it out.
Its a classic.
Anyway I'll stop babbling.. I have the set and would quite happily swap it with any eager TDV fans. Can send it via one of the many 'file send' sites straight to ur email.
I was lucky enough to hear tony many times at gatecrasher (sheffield) and golden (at sankeys in manchester) during 1997 and early 1998 before his tragic death.
He played my 18bday at gatecrasher on September 28th 1997 - what a night. javascript:emoticon(' ')
Praise you!
Message me if u wanna swap sets.

hello guys....
i just heard Tony's set from Dreamscape 20 for the very first time. now as a avid fan of the master who's dj'ing ability was second to none. his mixing still stands proud 12 -13 years later. however...
i think that this entire mix was diabolical to say the least... i can only say that on the ocassions i was lucky enough to watch Tony play, which amounts to well over 24 hours. that i never once heard him drop a beat or run out of record... i assume there must've been a big sound issue at Dreamscape 20 and Tony was seriously uncomfortable.
does anyone know if this is fact or not, did Tony ever comment on his experience at Dreamscape 20...?????
sorry Tony but as my dj idol, even today... i think this set is a crock of shiite..
i've heard people that aren't dj's play better mixes than that... please tell me that you either did it on purpose to upset the promoters or that there was a sound issue.
It still chokes me up inside and i'am still not ready to accept the fact that you're the best dj/producer that the world will ever miss...
thanks for all the memories, and for signing all that loo roll after your set on the trade tour at the warehouse in plymouth. as you waited for your brand new, bright red mercedes to pull up. i recall saying to you, now that's class when i saw the number plate P1TDV you got into the car, wound the window down, shook my hand and as the car drove away, you said "i think i've earned it " as you winked and disappeared behind the closing blacked out window. |
